Sanding is the step most contractors skip, and it's the reason their stain jobs fail in two years. We sand decks down to clean, open wood — flattening raised grain, removing splinters, and stripping failed finish — so the new stain actually soaks in and bonds instead of peeling off in sheets.
Our Process

Prep
Furniture is moved, plants are covered, and loose fasteners are set below the surface.

Coarse Pass
Failed finish and weathered fiber are cut away down to sound wood.

Finish Pass
A finer grit leaves a smooth, even surface that's comfortable barefoot.
4
Cleanup
Dust is cleared from the deck and surrounding area before staining begins.
